It’s Friday Eve and the chat crew was a little wound up. Tech gremlins and Elon messing with me couldn’t get me down because I was starting my day with Clyde Blend in my cup. I share our upcoming plans for a purposeful road trip for most of July and all the prep that needs to be done. Leading off with The Perfect Cup Question “What’s the best concert you’ve ever attended?” followed by LOTS of History prepared by Pip at Ducktioncups.com (to get all the history if you missed out because of Gremlins it is at the bottom).

Good morning humans and happy AM. In Florida-man language, we call today “Friday-eve”

Here’s LOTS of history for you on Thursday, oh and #goodmorningKori
- 1949 – George Orwell’s Nineteen Eighty-Four is published.

- 1992 – The first World Oceans Day is celebrated, coinciding with the Earth Summit held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The Ocean Project started global coordination of World Ocean Day starting in 2002.
“World Oceans Day” was officially recognised by the United Nations in 2008.
The international day supports the implementation of worldwide Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
and fosters public interest in the protection of the ocean and the sustainable management of its resources.
Pip’s notes- FYI Boyan Slat’s (the ocean cleanup) Birthday is July 27th. From my ignorant understanding, it sounds like
Boyan’s done more to clean the oceans than anyone at some party in Ro de Janeiro… oh, excuse me, it’s called a “summit”.
If you’re not familiar with the name, what about “The Ocean Cleanup” river cleaning boat and “The Interceptor” ocean garbage collecting machine.

- 2004 – The first Venus Transit in well over a century takes place, the previous one being in 1882.
The last transit of Venus was on 5 and 6 June 2012, and was the last Venus transit of the 21st century;
the prior transit took place on 8 June 2004.
The previous pair of transits were in December 1874 and December 1882.
The next transits of Venus will take place on 10–11 December 2117 and 8 December 2125
Pip’s notes- What is a ‘transit of Venus’ you ask?
A transit of Venus across the Sun takes place when the planet Venus passes directly between the Sun and a superior planet,
becoming visible against (and hence obscuring a small portion of) the solar disk.
… also Pip’s notes- Yeah, I don’t know if that helped…
