- 1905 – Francis Lubbock, American colonel and politician(b. 1815)
the ninth Governor of Texas and was in office during the American Civil War.
Lubbock died in Austin on June 22, 1905, at the age of 89, making him the last Confederate Governor to die.
He is buried at Texas State Cemetery in Austin.
