Road & Cabin Progress: Momentum Finally Feels Real
The biggest win this week wasn’t flashy—it was access.
After months of dealing with washouts, ruts, and sketchy conditions anytime it rained, we finally made meaningful progress on the road leading into the property. Several loads of rock went down, drainage is improving, and most importantly, we can get in and out without wondering if we’re about to get stuck.
This wasn’t a government project.
No grants.
No magic funding.
Just private dollars, equipment, and time—exactly how things tend to get done when you’re living at the end of a dirt road.
Cabin Framing Progress
Inside the cabin, framing has been moving fast thanks to Kori having extra time off. We’re working section by section with 2×6 non-load-bearing walls, fitting them tight between the post-frame structure. Some of these walls are heavier than they look, and having two people on site has made a huge difference.
Out of 14 framing sections around the structure, 11½ are now complete.
Once the perimeter framing is done:
- Windows and doors can be installed
- Exterior metal can go up
- The cabin gets closed in
- Utilities, wiring, plumbing, and insulation can finally begin
That’s the real domino effect moment—when everything starts stacking forward instead of sideways.
A Big Floor Plan Change (For the Better)
Kori made a late-stage layout change that completely reshaped the interior:
- Bedrooms moved to one side
- Bathroom got larger
- Kitchen widened significantly
- Living room and kitchen opened into one shared space
Even in a modest footprint, ceiling height and openness change everything. After years in a camper, the cabin already feels massive—and it’s only framing.
Bitcoin Price Guessing Game: A $1 Finish
Every week, we run a Bitcoin price guessing game in the Telegram chat. This week was one of the closest finishes we’ve ever had.
At the time of the show:
- Bitcoin was hovering around $89,994
- Two guesses landed within $2,000
- The winner beat second place by one single dollar
That’s it. One dollar.
Moments like that are why we keep doing it—it’s fun, it gets people paying attention, and it keeps Bitcoin part of everyday conversation instead of some abstract chart on a screen.

Silver Is Quietly Making Noise Again
Silver doesn’t get the same hype as Bitcoin, but if you’ve been watching the metals market lately, you’ve probably noticed something interesting.
Not long ago, silver was in the $20 range. Recently, it pushed into the $60s.
That’s not nothing.
It sparked a conversation about whether we should start a silver guessing game alongside Bitcoin—and whether more people should be paying attention to tangible assets again as inflation and monetary games continue.
No conclusions yet… but it’s on the radar.
The Local Activity I Might Be Missing (And Probably Won’t Join)
Kori noticed something strange around our little cluster of neighbors.
Multiple people regularly drive around with washers, dryers, and even TVs sitting in the beds of their trucks—for days at a time—before unloading them back at their houses.
- Not to the dump.
- Not to scrap yards.
- Not obviously being fixed.
Just… taking appliances for rides.
We still don’t know if it’s scrapping, fixing, storage, or some local ritual I’m unaware of. And honestly, I’m probably not going to ask.
Some mysteries are better left unsolved.
Marijuana Rescheduling: Why I’m Skeptical
The executive order to reschedule marijuana from Schedule I to Schedule III sounds good on the surface. It acknowledges potential medical benefits and opens the door to expanded research.
But here’s the part that worries me.
Rescheduling doesn’t mean freedom.
It doesn’t mean legalization.
And it definitely doesn’t mean homegrow protections.
What it does mean is:
- Easier access for Big Pharma
- Patents on strains, extraction methods, and delivery systems
- A slow push toward “approved” cannabis only
- Demonization of flower and homegrown use
If history tells us anything, it’s that when large institutions get involved, control follows close behind.
I hope I’m wrong—but I don’t see this as a clear win for personal freedom.
Christmas Without the Chaos
Christmas looks different now.
Not running between family events.
No packed schedules.
Not dealing with winter storms.
Just time off, cabin work, and quiet reflection.
For us, Christmas is another day to build, to slow down, and to be intentional. That shift didn’t happen overnight—but it feels right.
