📢 The History & Evolution of The LOTS Project Morning Show
The LOTS Project Morning Show has evolved significantly since its early days. What started as a simple way to document a journey has grown into a weekly deep dive into Bitcoin, AI, off-grid living, and independent thought. More importantly, it has built a strong community of listeners who share a passion for thinking outside the system.
From Homestead Updates to Full-Time Podcasting
The podcast originally launched as The LOTS Project Podcast while Brian and his wife were still living on their Minnesota homestead. Back then, the show was just a quick 15-minute live update before work. The topics focused on homesteading, self-sufficiency, and the process of selling their farm to hit the road in an off-grid RV.
When they transitioned to full-time travel, the podcast also changed. The show expanded to 60-90 minutes every weekday, streaming live to a growing audience. Over the course of 820 episodes, The LOTS Project Podcast rarely missed a scheduled show. In fact, the only exceptions were due to severe illness or complete internet blackouts while on the road.
Challenges & Pivotal Moments
Throughout the journey, the show has captured some of Brian’s highest and lowest moments. The week his homestead sale fell apart became a raw, emotional rollercoaster—documented live, day by day. Another unforgettable moment came when he recorded a heartfelt episode after losing one of their beloved St. Bernards.
Traveling in an RV presented its own challenges. Unstable internet, unpredictable recording environments, and constant location changes all made consistency difficult. Despite these obstacles, Brian never stopped broadcasting. At times, he considered ending the podcast, but the tight-knit community he built kept him going. Rather than quitting, he adjusted the format to fit his evolving life.
The Shift to The LOTS Project Morning Show
As new projects took priority, it became clear that a daily show was no longer sustainable. Instead of ending the podcast entirely, Brian rebranded it as The LOTS Project Morning Show and shifted to a once-a-week schedule on Mondays.
This new format allows for:
- More structured, topic-driven segments.
- A stronger focus on high-quality content in the audio format.
- More prep time, leading to deeper conversations & insights.
- A dedicated blog post for each episode.
While live audience interaction remains a key element, the new structure prioritizes value-packed content and long-term audience growth.
Looking Ahead
The LOTS Project Morning Show continues to adapt and grow. Moving forward, Brian aims to fine-tune the structure of each episode by implementing consistent segments while maintaining the raw, filter-free nature of the show.
