Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 3, 2026
Who We Are
The LOTS Project operates the website https://thelotsproject.com. This policy explains what information may be collected when you visit the site, submit a form, subscribe to email updates, leave a comment or follow an external link.
Information You Provide
When you use the contact form, we may receive your name, email address, company, brand or website, the type of inquiry and the message you submit.
When you subscribe for email updates or request a downloadable resource, we collect your email address along with information related to your subscription, such as when and how you subscribed, confirmation status and interactions with emails we send.
If you leave a comment, WordPress collects the information entered in the comment form. It may also collect your IP address and browser user-agent information to help detect spam. An anonymized version of your email address may be sent to Gravatar to determine whether you use that service. After a comment is approved, your profile image may be publicly visible with the comment.
Information Collected Automatically
Our website, hosting provider and security tools may automatically process technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device type, referring page, pages visited, timestamps and requested URLs. This information is used to operate, secure and understand the use of the website.
How We Use Information
We may use collected information to:
- Respond to questions, collaboration requests and support inquiries
- Deliver requested downloads and email updates
- Operate, maintain and improve the website
- Understand which pages and resources are useful to visitors
- Prevent spam, fraud, unauthorized access and other security threats
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our rights
We do not sell personal information.
Contact Forms and Email Delivery
The site uses WPForms Lite for contact forms. WPForms Lite sends submitted information by email and does not ordinarily store form entries in the WordPress database. Copies of a message may remain in our email account, mail-server records or backups for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to the inquiry, maintain business records or protect the site.
FluentSMTP and our website hosting and email providers are used to transmit these messages.
Email Subscriptions
The LOTS Project uses MailerLite to manage email subscriptions, confirmation emails, downloadable resources and email campaigns. MailerLite may process your email address, subscription status, signup source and email engagement information on our behalf.
We use double opt-in where configured. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link included in every marketing email. We may retain limited suppression information after an unsubscribe so that we can honor the request and avoid sending additional marketing email.
MailerLite’s privacy policy is available at https://www.mailerlite.com/legal/privacy-policy.
Website Analytics
We use Independent Analytics to understand website traffic and page usage. Independent Analytics does not use cookies and does not store visitors’ raw IP addresses. It temporarily uses an IP address for approximate geographic information and creates a one-way hashed identifier using technical browser information. Analytics information is stored within our WordPress database.
Security
We use Wordfence Security to protect the website. Wordfence may process IP addresses, browser information, requested URLs, login attempts and other technical activity to identify malicious traffic, prevent unauthorized access and investigate security events.
Wordfence’s privacy policy is available at https://www.wordfence.com/privacy-policy/.
Cookies
WordPress may use cookies for functions such as remembering comment information, determining whether a browser accepts cookies and managing administrator logins. Most visitors who do not log in or leave comments will not receive these WordPress account-related cookies.
Independent Analytics does not use cookies.
Third-party services, embedded content, email forms and affiliate destinations may use their own cookies or similar technologies according to their own privacy policies.
Embedded and Third-Party Content
Pages on this site may contain embedded videos, audio players, images or other content from services such as YouTube. Embedded content may behave as though you visited the third-party website directly. Those providers may collect technical information, use cookies or track interactions with the embedded content, particularly if you are logged into an account with that provider.
MailerLite forms may use Google reCAPTCHA to prevent automated submissions. Google may process device, browser and interaction information when reCAPTCHA is loaded or used.
Google’s privacy policy is available at https://policies.google.com/privacy.
Affiliate Links
Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you follow one of these links, the retailer or affiliate network may use cookies, referral identifiers or similar technology to record that the visit came from The LOTS Project. We may earn a commission if you make a qualifying purchase, at no additional cost to you.
Affiliate partners may include Amazon Associates and other equipment manufacturers, retailers or affiliate networks identified on the relevant page. These third parties control their own data collection and privacy practices.
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
External Support and Payment Links
The site may link to third-party services such as Amazon, Lightning payment providers, Cash App, Venmo or other platforms. When you follow one of these links, you leave The LOTS Project website and become subject to that provider’s terms and privacy policy. The LOTS Project does not directly collect or store your payment-card or financial-account information through these external links.
How We Share Information
We may share information only as reasonably necessary with service providers that help us host, secure, operate and communicate through the website; when required by law; to protect our rights or the safety of others; or as part of a business transfer.
Current service providers may include our website and email host, WordPress-related services, WPForms, FluentSMTP, MailerLite, Independent Analytics, Wordfence and providers of embedded content.
Data Retention
We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose it was collected, to maintain appropriate business and security records or to meet legal obligations.
Comments and their metadata may be retained indefinitely so follow-up comments can be recognized. Contact messages may remain in email records and backups. Email subscriber information is retained until you unsubscribe, request deletion or the information is removed through normal list maintenance. Security and analytics data is retained according to our settings and the practices of the applicable service provider.
Your Choices and Rights
You may unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in an email.
You may also request access to, correction of or deletion of personal information we hold about you. Some information may need to be retained for legal, administrative, security or suppression-list purposes.
To make a privacy request, use the Contact page linked in the website navigation. Please provide enough information for us to identify the relevant records. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.
Children’s Privacy
The LOTS Project is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted personal information, contact us so we can review and remove it where appropriate.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when the website, services or legal requirements change. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated when material changes are made.
