June 23, 2025 | Episode 844 of The LOTS Project Morning Show
This week’s episode of The LOTS Project Morning Show brings a sweaty dose of Tennessee humid summer weather and some filter-free thoughts on war, woodworking, and everything in between.
The Return of the Humidity Beast
The rain may have stopped, but the humidity isn’t going anywhere. The air feels like soup, with heat indexes climbing above 110°F in Tennessee. After a solid few months of rain—including one downpour that washed out part of the new driveway at Delinquents Gully—we’re now stuck in that Southern “steam box” phase where everything is sticky, soggy, and somehow still dusty.
Despite the heat, progress continues. Weed-eating at the property became a full-time job, but it revealed that the cabin site held up impressively well under heavy rain. Only one corner stayed slightly muddy, and even without permanent drainage yet, the prepared pad area remained solid. A small victory in the middle of a muggy mess.
K&B Kustom Built Website Goes Live
A major milestone: the K&B Kustom Built website is officially live at
👉 https://kandbkustombuilt.com
This was a learning curve—figuring out how to handle products with shipping, local pickup, different weights, sizes, and delivery options—but the site is up and running.
To support the launch, flyers were created and are now posted at local spots, including a prime eye-level spot on the door of the nearby gas station. The goal? Get eyes on the site, start driving local traffic, and prepare for upcoming in-person markets and fairs. A few farmers markets are full until fall, but craft fair and flea market plans are simmering.

Pipping Problems & Production Pause
Speaking of simmering—some DIY frustration boiled over this week too.
We tested out our first set of yard dice, complete with hand-drilled pips. The result? Not quite up to our standards. Between bit size issues, uneven depths, and poor alignment from using a handheld drill, the prototype dice came out looking… well, a little wonky.
The verdict: we’re pausing dice and domino production until we upgrade our setup. The two options on the table are a drill press or a laser engraver. Each has pros and cons, and we’re currently reaching out to manufacturers for potential sample units in exchange for content. Until then, no sense cranking out imperfect products.
Radio Ghosts and Engine Gremlins
The truck continues its legacy of mystery. After months of peace, the check engine light reappeared briefly—without any running issues—and then vanished again without a trace. Could be moisture, could be a ghost in the machine. Speaking of ghosts, our aftermarket Amazon-special stereo is still playing its own little game: sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. No rhyme. No reason.
Still, the truck moves, and that’s enough for now.

Pepper Plants, Pop-Up Tents & Productivity
Back at the camper, the jalapeños and cayenne peppers are thriving in this swampy weather. One jalapeño per week, like clockwork, and the cayenne plant is now loaded with a couple dozen peppers. Kori’s garden efforts are bringing back some of that Minnesota growing itch, even if the lettuce is suffering from the heat.
Meanwhile, the tents used for outdoor woodworking were finally taken down after mowing complications and surprise storms. We’re getting closer to a time where tools and materials can live indoors—but until then, it’s setup and teardown every time.
War Talk & Weekend Warnings
We wrapped up this episode with a hard look at world events. Over the weekend, the U.S. bombed nuclear sites in Iran. Surprise, surprise—it’s déjà vu all over again. With reports of sleeper cells, retaliatory threats, and political propaganda flying fast, this feels like the same war drum beat we’ve been hearing since the early ’90s—only louder now.
Whether you’re red, blue, black flag, or just burnt out, one thing’s clear: if there’s one thing governments never waste, it’s a good crisis.

Final Notes
There’s no show next Monday (June 30), but I’ll be back after the 4th of July—hopefully with more progress, less humidity, and maybe even a surprise audio-only episode while I’m away.
Until then, stay cool, stay free, and stay skeptical.
