The roof is finally up at the cabin—and that’s not the only milestone this week. In Episode 848 of The LOTS Project Morning Show, I break down one of the biggest steps in our off-grid build so far, launch a brand-new Bitcoin product, and unpack what the Genius Act really means for your financial privacy.

Let’s get into it.

The Cabin Roof Goes Up: Posts, Trusses & Real Progress

Twelve weeks after ordering materials, the crew finally rolled in with trusses, posts, and the machinery to get it done. After some careful navigation down our rough easement road, they set up, drilled post holes, and built the entire structure in a single day—despite triple-digit heat indexes.

The attention to detail was top-notch. Every post was within a quarter inch of spec, and they handled the terrain and logistics like pros. It was one of those “finally, we’re moving forward” moments.

Next up: hanging the floor, framing walls, and ordering siding. The cabin build is getting real.

Launching the Bitcoin Preparedness & Recovery Kit

It’s a printable, non-digital resource designed to make sure your Bitcoin doesn’t vanish if something happens to you. Think legacy planning without the complexity. You document your wallets, seed phrases (offline only!), key contacts, and recovery instructions—then store it, and sleep better knowing your sats won’t be lost.

Whether you’re a Bitcoiner or know someone who is, this is a simple way to bridge the gap between privacy and preparedness.

The Genius Act: A Quiet Threat to Privacy and Cash

Billed as “clarity for crypto,” the Genius Act is anything but harmless. It regulates stablecoins, requiring 1:1 reserves and monthly audits. On the surface? Reasonable.

But under the hood, it’s laying the groundwork for central bank digital currencies (CBDCs). It introduces real-time compliance infrastructure, ID-based transactions, and Fed oversight—all the rails needed for a programmable, trackable monetary system.

We also looked at current related bills like the eCash Act (proposed privacy-respecting digital cash) and Tom Emmer’s Anti-Surveillance State Act, which would ban retail CBDCs.

Bottom line: CBDCs aren’t here yet, but the systems to launch them are being built today—and this is one step closer.

Pergola Fails & Cow Invasions

As if the week wasn’t eventful enough, Kori and I tackled assembly of a new GarveeLife pergola —under a freshly installed roof and in the blazing heat. Between IKEA-level instructions and a few frustrating missteps, we finally got it up… after finding that a herd of cows had wandered through the build site and left “gifts” under our new roof.
